Chasewater Railway Museum – Sister Dora Nameplate.

Another item kindly donated to the museum collection, is the nameplate                            SISTER DORA

This was removed from a Midland Metro Tram No 5, after being withdrawn from service.

Although not a Railway item as such, it has a local connection, as it was named after a Walsall Legend Dorothy Patterson. Dorothy or Sister Dora, as she was known worked in the cottage Hospital in Bradford Street in the mid 1800’s. A group of railway workers carried the coffin at her funeral.

The nameplate which was acquired by Councillor Richard Worrall, and Graham Wilkes, was presented to the Museum on Sunday August 11th 2019.
